Hey Everyone! I am looking for some help from the lovely ladies of the group! I’m currently doing my masters thesis on women’s wilderness experience and their use of social media (facebook, blogs, instagram, etc). If you’re interested in helping me out, please take this quick survey www.surveymonkey.com/r/X36YZ8F (literally 3 minutes) and if you’re interested in doing an interview with me after taking it, there is an option to leave your email! I’m wrapping up the study mid-March and I am desperately looking for more participants! If you’ve already taken my survey and left your email for an interview and never got an email from me- let me know (message here or at thweathe@syr.edu)! For some reason my emails keep getting sent to people’s junk folders. ... See MoreSee Less

Pics of our hike up Sawteeth yesterday led by Mike Forsyth. Also along from our chapter: Dick Richard Frio, John Lang, Meg Keech. Other folks were from other chapters. Hard packed snow with some icy spots along the way and a couple more challenging frozen flows meant micro spikes all the way. It was a splendid day with super hiking pals.

Some pics of yesterdays snowshoe on the Fellows Hill Loop. This was the FLT Howard Beye Hike combined with some ADK-ON members. Great hike, great workout. The snow was about 8 to 18 inches deep.

The Onondaga Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club continues to be one of the most active chapters in the ADK. The reason for this is because of all our dedicated volunteers. We are in need of a few volunteers right now. We currently need a Publicity Chair. This person is responsible for getting the word out about our local hikes to news agencies in the area. It’s a good way to get non ADK members to sample some of the hiking that we do and maybe sign up some new members. We can also use two Alternate Directors. They help fill in at the ADK Director meetings at ADK headquarters if one of our Directors can’t make it to the meeting. We are also looking for volunteers to assist with the website, visit and thank trail landowners, maintain trails etc. If interested contact Mike Ogden, mogden317@gmail.com ... See MoreSee Less
