Once again the North Country Trail Association will be sponsoring the hike 100 miles on the NCNST program. In 2017 there will be a new twist. Participants will need to give back to the tail in some way by working on the tail or promoting the trail. For a trail steward this is easy. Recall that any 100 miles qualifies even if one hikes the same mile 100 times. FLT/NCT road walks and the approved Adirondack route also count.
Complete the Build It Challenge along with your Hike 100 Challenge, and you’ll be entered to win a special grand prize drawing at the end of the year as well as a new patch. ADK-ON offers 3-4 work trips per month and FLTC sponsors Alley Cat Crews which will qualify if on FLTC Maps M1-M21, O1 & O2 where the FLT hosts the NCNST. In the Build It Challenge, participants can complete two simple activities to help spread the word about the NCNST and get more people involved. In addition to trail maintenance,
volunteering at the NY State Fair hiking trail exhibit will also qualify. To learn more and to register check out: https://www.northcountrytrail.org/hike100challenge.
