A few reminders for those stewards and others who assist in the maintenance of trails whose upkeep is the Chapter’s responsibility:

1. Clear any branches, overhangs, etc. that is or will obscure blazes. The rule is, standing at one blaze, one should be able to see the next blaze in the direction of travel.

2. Clear debris on the trail tread.

3. Report to the Trail Chair (Tony Rodriguez) large blowdown and extensive berry bushes, grasses and weeds. Please give the distance/time from the trailhead to avoid unnecessary effort.

4. Contact Tony for tools needed.

Yes, one can and does get lost (Jones Hill 2012) even on well-marked trails with ample tread—blazes are needed!

Thanks for your efforts; it is well appreciated by the Chapter and hikers.

Stewards are always needed.
